Marnus Labuschagne Dropped from Australian One-Day International Lineup to Face India
Marnus Labuschagne has been dropped from Australia's three-game ODI series against India, as in-form Queensland colleague Matt Renshaw earning a unexpected inclusion.
Performance Issues Lead to Exclusion
The right-hander was left out from the ODI squad after being dismissed for one in his two batting efforts during the recent series against South Africa in August. He has a highest score of forty-seven in his last 10 ODI innings.
The 31-year-old has featured in 68 one-day internationals and scored 1,871 ODI runs at an average of 34.64 runs per dismissal, but will now focus on earning a Test team comeback in time for the Ashes starting in Perth on 21 November.
Renshaw's Return and Other Squad Changes
Recent performances suggest of a return to form with 160 for Queensland in the domestic first-class competition this week, while Renshaw also hit a century for the Bulls in the identical match against Tasmania.
Renshaw could to make his first white-ball appearance in the upcoming series against India after previously being selected in an ODI squad in 2022.

Australia have announced a squad for only the initial two T20 matches against India with the Ashes approaching, although Glenn Maxwell will be absent for the five-game T20 series due to a wrist injury sustained in New Zealand.
Mitch Marsh will lead both the ODI and T20 teams after scoring a hundred in the final game against New Zealand to seal a series clean sweep last week.
“We have named a squad for the ODI series and initial two matches of the T20 series as there will be rotation through the back end of the series as players get ready for the summer through Sheffield Shield cricket,” selection chief George Bailey said.
“The bulk of the T20 squad will stay as a group as it’s an important period in the build towards the T20 World Cup next year, however we are trying to strike a balance to ensure we simultaneously get ready certain individuals for the Test matches ahead.”
Australia’s three-game ODI series against India commences on 19 October in Perth, before the rivals play five T20s from October 29.
