BF6 Players Are Convinced: Missions Are Overly Demanding

The launch of the much-awaited Battlefield 6 garnered significant enthusiasm, particularly for its flagship multiplayer mode. Exclusively on Steam, live player figures surged to nearly 750,000. Yet, regardless of its fanfare, a growing number of players are expressing frustration over some of the game's most difficult challenges, which are required to obtain particular firearms.

Gamers have begun turning to tailored sessions created through Battlefield Portal to finish these tasks, emphasizing just how grueling these challenges have become.

Grasping BF6 Tasks

Assignments are Battlefield 6's ongoing multiplayer objectives, different from the regularly refreshed day-to-day and weekly tasks. There are four categories of assignments, but where most only reward skins and a few gadgets, completing the weapon assignments is the exclusive means of obtaining twelve from the forty-one primary weapons available in the game.

Some of these gated guns might eventually make their appearance on rosters of the finest arms in Battlefield 6.

Player Outcry across Reddit

On Reddit, players are justifiably expressing their worries about how challenging and repetitive some of these challenges are. An individual player pointed out one of the most egregious examples, needed to obtain the KTS100 MK8 LMG:

  • Subdue 300 opponents with LMGs
  • Inflict 10,000 hipfire damage with LMGs

"This challenge is so awful and totally unreasonable, I want to gouge my eyes out," is a quote that summarizes just how frustratingly difficult these tasks are.

Suppression in Battlefield is more diminished than before in the series, so it has significantly fewer advantages in battle as it used to in previous games. It only counts as suppression if you fire a burst without hitting the target.

At the same time, hipfiring an LMG is extremely unreliable and functions solely at extremely close range, which is seldom the location you want to be. The same user also noted the contradiction in the SMG challenge, needed to obtain the SCW-10, which needs takedowns using ADS, when that mission would be far more appropriate to hipfire kills, and the other way around.

Another Extremely Difficult Mission

A different forum member pointed out another ridiculously tough challenge, within the long-range weapon type to obtain the PSR:

  • Get 150 headshot kills from more than 200 meters away with sniper rifles

This is challenging enough as it is, but there's another important point to consider: many Battlefield 6 maps fail to facilitate combat at those extended distances.

There is a decent selection of map sizes, but because there are just nine levels in the game at present, it implies you must stick to playing New Sobek City, a particular valley environment, and perhaps a classic map if you're lucky if you plan to engage from afar from a significant distance.

The Workaround

However, there is a solution: Battlefield Portal. The Battlefield Portal is a tool that allows you to make custom game modes on the battleground of your choice, including AI opponents. This means you can cheese the system… but it isn't truly in line with the intended gameplay experience.

Yet, if completing the missions in a proper game seems counterproductive, since you have to play in such an unorthodox manner that harms both you and your squad, who can fault a player for completing them in a private match so allies are not impaired?

Future Adjustments

It should not be shocking if a number of these missions are adjusted to be less difficult in the next few updates, because unless they are modified, a portion of the user base simply are unlikely to obtain the restricted guns.

For now, the player base continues to share their thoughts on these challenging in-game tasks, anticipating a fairer player experience in coming revisions.
